Fun Facts about Four!

The last couple of weeks have been fun celebrating our big four year old's birthday! I'm hoping Jayden doesn't get used to celebrating her bday for a full week straight -- otherwise we're in big trouble!

Her official four year check up isn't for another week, but since I have all her stats from a recent doctor visit, I was anxious to write her blog.

All About Jayden:
Height: 37 1/2 inches
Weight: 29 lbs
Shoe size: 7
Clothing Size: Still in 3T but making her way to 4T

She's also getting smarter by the day! She's a little sponge - so more than ever we have to be careful what we say around her.

Jayden can...
Count to 30 (almost all on her own)
Count to 10 in Spanish (and she's learning basic Spanish)
Sign all of her colors (and she's learning basic sign language)
Recognize all her colors, shapes, numbers and letters
Almost cut in a straight line

Jayden knows...
Her full name
How to spell her first name
Her full address (including city and state)
My name and Jonathan's name
My phone number (and we're working on Jonathan's)

A Quick Questionnaire about Jayden's Favorites...
What's your Favorite color? Pink
What's your Favorite toy? Little Mermaid Barbie
Who's your Favorite Disney Princess? Belle
What's your Favorite song to sing? Do You Want to Build a Snowman
What's your Favorite thing to wear? Belle Dress (I'm definitely sensing a Disney theme!)
What's your Favorite Movie? Elsa & Anna
What's your Favorite food? Tacos
What's your Favorite Dessert? Donuts
What's your Favorite Stuffed Animal? Mr. Nuguin (still her penguin)
What's your Favorite Book? The Princess Stories
What's your Favorite Thing to Do? Play with Play-doh
Who's your Best Friend? Nate & Ella
Where do you want to go on Vacation? To Ella's House
What do you Want to Be When You Grow Up? I don't want to grow up (awww..glad we're on the same page...I don't want her to grow up either!)

I can already tell four is going to be fun and we're excited to see what's in store for our little Jayden this year!
Love you Jayden Faith! <3

The Eve of Four

It's hard to believe 4 years ago Jonathan and I started this blog as we sat in a hospital room praying and hoping I could make it a few more days (or weeks) before delivering Jayden. Now, here I sit, on the eve of her birthday looking back over the most amazing four years of our lives. So many amazing memories...so many joyful moments - we could not feel more thankful for the kind, gentle, courageous, loving and gracious four year old we have been blessed with.

A few months ago I bought this cute shabby chic sign that says "Let me love you a little more before you're not little anymore" ... and that's exactly how we feel about our girls. The days are long but the years are so incredibly short and I find myself wanting to hold on to these precious moments with these girls that have filled my heart with so much love and so much joy.

While there have been challenging moments as Jayden developed her little personality and expressed her independence during the past year, we could not be more proud of the little lady she is becoming.

Christmas 2016

I'm a tad late writing about our Christmas last year, but because it was one of the best holidays we've ever had, I couldn't help but still blog about it!

The whole month of December, the girls had such a blast! Between looking at Christmas lights, opening all the generous and thoughtful gifts they received and enjoying the spirit of Christmas, it was such a fun month for us!

Jayden loved our nativity scene! We would wind-up the music box and listen to the pretty music almost every day!

Out and about looking at Christmas lights with Memaw and Papa! One of the girls favorite things to do!

When we were bringing out the Christmas decorations, we came across this singing and dancing puppy that Uncle John and Aunt Mary gave to Jayden a few years ago. Ever since Sophia found him, she hasn't let him go!

Christmas Eve with the Erickson's! Such a fun way to start the day!

They saved the biggest and best gift for last!

And Uncle Steve was as excited as the girls to assemble their cool Power Wheels Jeep!!

Such a fun and generous gift from Auntie Neen, Auntie Katy & Uncle Steve!

Later that day we headed down to Escondido to spend time with Jonathan's side of the family. The girls had such a fun day and enjoyed their Christmas Eve dinner at their special table!

Quality time with the great grandparents and their family!!

Jayden trying on her new Christmas ornament stocking LOL

When we got home later that night, it was time to assemble the girls new trikes!!

Best daddy EVER!

FINALLY!!! Christmas morning!!!

The girls LOVED opening all the gifts! And by Christmas morning, they had the routine down! If we said, let's go sit down and open gifts, they would run to their spots and wait patiently for their gifts!

Selfie :)

Notice daddy's blue bow on his head...
Shortly after, the girls copied their daddy :)

Drum roll please...their final gifts made their appearance! Sophia & Savannah are a little short and can't quite reach their pedals, but it won't be long before they are riding around with big sis Jayden!

After opening all their fun gifts, it was breakfast time! Their sweet great-grandma Dee made yummy Mickey Mouse waffles and they ate every last bite!! Such a fun way to start off the day!

After nap time, it was time to head to Monnie's house for more Christmas day fun!

The four musketeers (minus one = Brooklyn)

The girls had so much fun opening their gifts!

...and it wasn't too much longer before the dress-up clothes came out!

We had such a fun time this holiday season and we had an amazing time with friends and family!

Now that all the decorations are packed away, there's one specific Christmas toy that hasn't made it's way up to the attic (and probably never will). Sophia is obsessed with her little puppy and she even has a hard time going to sleep if he isn't with her!

Happy Holidays from our family to yours! And an extra special thank you to our friends and family that made this holiday season so special!! <3
