Nesting!

Lately I have definitely been in the "nesting" stage and prepping for the twins and their big debut! Even though I have just over 8 weeks to go, you can never start too early :)

Today I put together all my "nursing" stations - I put one in the nursery, one in the loft and one downstairs in the family room. I bought cute baskets and put receiving blankets, burp cloths, lanolin cream, breast pads and hand sanitizer in each one.

I'm so happy with how they turned out!!

And I also moved Jayden's bookshelf into the loft. It will give us more room in the nursery for the twins and now all the books are in a central spot for the girls.

The last few days I've been researching how to make life easier with twins…I certainly don't know what people did before Google and YouTube! Yesterday I watched videos on how to carry twins with a moby wrap! I had no idea you could wrap up two babies with a moby! I was so excited I had to give it a try!!

Luckily Jayden has plenty of animals I could use as "babies"…so thanks to my special helpers, I was able to practice wrapping :)

Even though I'm still nervous about adding 2 more babies to our family, I'm beyond excited to meet them! There's nothing like seeing and holding your baby for the first time, and our twins will be the best double blessing that has happened to our cute little family :)

I read somewhere when you're pregnant with twins, your body has 6 arms, 6 legs, 30 fingers, 30 toes and 3 hearts full of love…and this mama will certainly have a heart overflowing with love for her babies <3

9 weeks to go!

Time seems to be flying by and I'm officially 28 weeks! I had my check up this week and everything was perfect. Even though my heart rate was a little high at 128, my blood pressure was down and my doctor said for me to just take it easy. Luckily, I survived another visit without being told I need to go on bedrest … so I'm not confined to my bed (yet)!

The girls are growing rapidly! The past two weeks they went through a huge growth spurt and each are now measuring over a week big! Even though I didn't gain any weight since my last visit (I actually lost weight since last week), my doctor said I'm fine and the babies look perfect. He said they are doing amazing and I'm doing amazing (yay!)! :) Baby A is about 2 lbs 10 ounces and Baby B is about 2 lbs 12 ounces ~ crazy to think they are just under what Jayden weighed when she was born!

Only 9 more weeks until we meet our precious twins <3

My feet look so tiny and far away! LOL

Bumpity bump bump!

We also had our maternity photos taken today! I'm so incredibly happy with how our pictures turned out! I've only seen the 'sneak peek', but so far I'm in L.O.V.E.! I can't wait to see the rest…especially the pics with Jayden in them! She was such a super star! Even though she was in a grumpy mood, we were able to get her to smile, give me kisses and even give my belly hugs and kisses! She was amazing!

Here's our sneak peek…enjoy <3

Total weight gain: 18 pounds

Stretch marks: None yet

Sleep: I'm really missing sleep! It seems as if I'm up every few hours either going to the bathroom or rotating from side to side.

Best moment this week: Taking maternity photos :)

Miss anything: Root beer…random I know…but I've been craving it and since it has caffeine I can't drink it :( Oh and I still miss a good night's sleep!

Movement: The girls are getting stronger and stronger! And it seems like they kick and punch at the same time!

Food cravings: Root beer & zours! I almost had Jonathan run out at 10pm the other night to get me some candies :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: None and keeping my fingers crossed it stays this way!

7 months prego

I'm 7 months pregnant and going strong! Even though I'm getting super uncomfortable, every day the babies are in my belly they grow bigger and stronger :)

Ever since we found out we were having twins, it seems like I see twins and hear about twins every where I go! And it's weird to think in only a few short months they will be here and complete our little family :)

Jonathan praying over our sweet baby girls <3

And listening to them move around in my belly (or at least he says he can hear them moving around).

Now that the babies are getting bigger, it's getting harder and harder to tell if they are moving or if I'm having a contraction. It's amazing how strong the girls are getting and how much you can see them move from outside my belly!

I feel like my belly is literally starting to stretch as they get bigger - I never had that feeling when I was pregnant with Jayden so I'm not used to it. I've also been wearing support bands to help with the weight. Even though I've only gained about 20 pounds, I feel like my belly is growing and expanding super fast! And since the twins are getting so big, my indigestion and heartburn is getting worse :( It started a few weeks ago, but I'd only get it at dinner time…and now it seems as if I get it with every meal. I now keep Tums in my purse, by my bed and of course in the kitchen. We've been trying to eat dinner pretty early so it gives me enough time to digest my food before bedtime since laying down makes my indigestion worse.

That's right…I <3 my bump!!

How far along: 27 Weeks

Total weight gain: 19 pounds

Stretch marks: None yet

Sleep: It's getting harder and harder to stay comfortable during the night. Since I can't sleep on my back (and normally I'm a back sleeper), I have to rotate from side to side. Also, now I not only depend on my pregnancy body pillow to keep me from rolling onto my back, but now I need it for a pillow for my belly!

Best moment this week: Watching Jonathan pray over my belly and talk to the girls <3

Miss anything: Sleep!

Movement: The past few days they've been rotating more than kicking, but now the girls will kick and punch at the same time, and usually it's right on my bladder!

Food cravings: None this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: None

Belly button in or out: Out

Wedding rings on or off: Still on :)

Happy or moody: Still happy…just tired

Looking forward to: Organizing all of Jayden's baby clothes that the girls will wear. Jonathan brought them down from the attic this weekend so my project this week will be washing and organizing everything!

One more month...

…until our little babe is 2!! She continues to amaze me and Jonathan with how incredibly smart she is and how quickly she learns new things! Just a few months ago we were worried about her vocabulary and now Jayden talks constantly and it seems as if she learns new words everyday! Every night Jonathan reads to Jayden and will not only have her point to certain objects but will ask her to say the word. We are so incredibly proud of her and the progress she has made :)

Our pediatrician said the average two year old says between 100-200 words and I definitely think Jayden is up to at least 100 words and she still has a full month of learning to go!

Jayden is also doing amazing in her swim lessons and this past week was her best lesson yet! She's able to roll over on her own and Jonathan and I think at this rate she will be swimming by the time she is 3!

I love watching her swim with daddy…it's so precious and I'm so proud of how well she has done in her classes!

Even though Jayden is still wearing 12 month clothes, I can definitely tell she is growing. I'm excited to see how tall she is and how much she weighs at her next doc appointment!

One more month of our little Jayden being one year old! Even though I'm nervous about 'terrible twos', I'm excited to see what the next year brings! <3

Extreme Makeover: Jayden's Room Edition

It was my goal to have Jayden's new room finished this weekend, and we put our minds to it and finished her room makeover in less than 24 hours!

Friday I was in charge of organizing/trashing all the junk from my office so Jonathan could move the heavy furniture without all the clutter and he put me in charge of taping the room (something I did extremely well I might add!)

When Jonathan got home from work Friday evening we headed to Home Depot to get the paint and all the supplies we needed for the job :)

As soon as we got out of the car, Jayden knew exactly where we were! She saw the Home Depot race cars and was so excited to drive the cart!

Off we go!

When we got home, she saw Jonathan taking apart my desk...

...and of course she wanted to help!

When I told her to lay down next to daddy - she made herself comfortable on top of daddy LOL

Such a big helper :)

It probably took Jonathan twice as long to take everything apart since Jayden was right there the entire time! But I know they loved doing it together <3

After Jayden went to bed, Scott & Pam came over to help move the big furniture down to my new office and start the first coat of paint.
In the morning, Jonathan was back to painting first thing (what a hard & dedicated worker!)

Meanwhile, I ironed Jayden's new valence and continued my project management position :)
Note to self…always move/have big projects during pregnancy! That way you get to sit back and direct :) LOL

Finishing the final touchups…and I'm getting excited!

After the paint dried - in came Jayden's ADORABLE new furniture!

It was quite the site watching them put the bed together…

But once everything was completely assembled…the room was complete!

And Jayden LOVES her new room! She didn't want to get off her big girl bed! Even though she won't be sleeping in here for a few more months, I'm glad she loves it and will (hopefully) get used to it before the twins take over her nursery.

I must say - I did an amazing job at picking out the paint, furniture and overseeing the whole project…but special thanks to my amazing hubby for working so hard to finish Jayden's new room! You're the best!! And thanks to our fam who helped tremendously! We really appreciate it & couldn't have done it without you <3

Hello Third Trimester

I can't believe I'm already in my third and final trimester of my pregnancy! The past 26 weeks have flown by and the countdown of the last 11 weeks has begun! These two girls will be here before we know it!

Monday I had to go in for the glucose test and found out I passed (yay)! I was not going to be a happy camper if I had to go back in for the 3 hour test! That sugary drink is the worst and I had a tummy ache the rest of the day because of it :(

Yesterday was my check up with my OBGYN and everything looks good! Both babies are still measuring a little big for 26 weeks, they are now over 2 pounds each and about the size of a head of lettuce! It's amazing how much the move around and will completely rotate day-to-day and week-to-week. Their kicks and jabs are getting stronger and stronger and it's so funny watching my belly move when they are dancing around. When the babies are moving I try putting Jayden's hand on my belly so she can feel them but she doesn't quite get it. Also, now when Jayden tries to sit on my lap, she's starting to find out she's running out of room and will try to push back on my belly to make more room. Little does she know this belly is only getting bigger the next 11 weeks!

Hello Belly - Goodbye Feet!

How far along: 26 Weeks

Total weight gain: 18 pounds

Stretch marks: None yet

Sleep: Waking up about 2-3x a night to go to the bathroom and/or because the babes are kicking me.

Best moment this week: Cuddling with Jayden while watching Finding "Memo".

Miss anything: Being able to carry Jayden whenever I want :(

Movement: Non-stop! These babies are dancing up a storm inside my belly!

Food cravings: El Pollo Loco Chicken Avocado Salad - I even went to the store to try and make it myself…surprisingly it turned out pretty good :)

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope! But this week I did start to get heartburn and indigestion…luckily I just so happened to buy a HUGE thing of Tums at Costco a few weeks ago! Such a lifesaver!

Belly button in or out: Fully out this week!

Wedding rings on or off: Still on - the swelling hasn't set in yet!

Happy or moody: Very happy <3

Looking forward to: Finishing up Jayden's new room & hopefully a relaxing weekend!

A New 'Do' for a New Year

That's right! I now have a favorite hairdo for Jayden -- pigtails! They are TOO cute (when she manages to leave them in!). Most of the time she will pull out the right one and leave the left one in…but when she's distracted and they both stay in, her hair is ADORABLE!

Jayden also has a new favorite pair of sandals (or "chews" as she calls them)! Monnie bought her cute sandals for Christmas and she wants to wear them all of the time! Even when it's bedtime, she won't take them off!

New shoes & new 'do = most adorable little girl in the world! <3

Update on new words Jayden is saying:

Nemo: Memo
Santa: Anta
Monnie: Mawnie
Grandpa: Papa
Bre: B
Parker: Pawka
Ella: Ewah
Al: Awu
Minnie: Meme
Ana: Nana (from Frozen)
Elsa: Esa
Harper: Pawper
Love you: Ra Rou
Water: Waher
Bath: Bah (she'll say this while trying to run upstairs to the bathtub and trying to take her shirt off)

Jayden also knows almost all her family members. When we show her pictures and ask where people are, she can point to almost everyone!

Jonathan has also been teaching Jayden animal sounds! It's HILARIOUS! She can mimic the sounds for dogs, cats, birds, lions, bees, horses, sheep, cows, ducks and pigs. She's one smart little babe <3
