Newborn Love

I've been waiting patiently to share our newborn pictures of Savannah and Sophia, but I wanted to wait until our announcements were sent out so the pictures were a surprise! Since I mailed the adorable announcements early this week, I think it's finally safe to share some of our favorite photos from the girls newborn session! :)

And I saved my favorite for last!
I'll never forget when my photographer sent this picture to me! Jonathan and I were driving home from Target and when I opened the picture on my phone I lost it! I started crying (I like to say it's because I just had 2 babies so I am double hormonal) but when Jonathan asked me what was wrong all I could say is nothing is wrong, but our girls are so incredibly beautiful!

We are so blessed <3

Our Talkative Two Year Old and Peaceful Twins

Little Miss Jayden is talking more and more each day. I can't believe some of the words or sentences she's saying! I don't know where she learns them, but it makes my heart smile seeing her express herself like a big girl!

Some of my new favorite words she's saying:
cooking - "kuking"
blanket - "buqet"
swim - "sim"
bless you - "fess you"
nails - "nails"
pacifier - "fyer"
night night - "ny night"
eggs - "ehyes"
hide them - "hy yem"
pray - "pay"
again - "ghen"

We also started teaching Jayden how to pray, which has been so adorable! She will put her hands together and repeat after me or Jonathan and after we say "amen" she will clap and say "ghen". I've never met a little girl that loves to pray as much as Jayden! Every day and night we pray for everyone in the family and all her friends. It's so cute how she pronounces everyones name…

daddy - "dadee"
mommy - "mommy" / "mama"
Sophia - "Fia"
Savannah - "Vanna" / "Mana"
Monnie - "mawyee"
Papa Mark - "papa mawk"
Grandma Pam - "memaw"
Papa Scott - "papa"
Bre -  "B"
Al - "Owe"
Ella - "Ewa"
Parker - "Pawkah"
Lexi - "Sessy"
Bryson - "Byson"
Hunter - "Huntoe"
Brooklyn - "Brookyn"
Katy - "Kayee"
Kristine - "Nene"

And at the end of the prayer, we say "love you Jesus" and she repeats "wove wu seasus"! It melts my heart ~ she is such an angel!

We just couldn't help ourselves…she looked so cute in her "angels" attire, we kept snapping pictures!

She's definitely not camera shy…she even says "cheese"

I've never known I could love anyone the way I love our girls! I love watching Jayden blossom into the most beautiful, kind, loving big sister! She loves copying everything we do, from rocking and singing to the babies to feeding and changing their diapers…Jayden will pretend to do it all with her baby doll! It's so funny and Jonathan and I can't help but laugh just watching her!

The other day, I came downstairs and found her baby doll in the baby bouncer seat! At first glance I thought it was one of the twins!

It makes my heart smile watching her love on the twins!

And those twins…awwwwwwww…I love loving on them also! They are so sweet and so peaceful, half the time you wouldn't even know they were in the same room as you! They only let out a peep if they are hungry or need a new diaper. I hear them the most since they usually stay wide awake after they eat around 3:00 in the morning. After I feed them, it usually takes them about 30-45 minutes to fall back asleep…they grunt, wiggle and squirm keeping mommy up until they pass out. Jonathan's convinced they have their days and nights mixed up.

The finally passed out at 4:00 after their 3:00 snack :)

Cuddling time with daddy is the best <3

As exhausted as I get, I never get tired of cuddling with my girls and staring at their cute little faces. I noticed this week their hair lines are becoming more defined and they are opening their eyes more and more to explore the world around them! Their eyes are still a blueish - gray color…but I can't wait to see what color their eyes turn out to be! They are also filling in beautifully! I love their little itty bitty rolls :)
They are still in newborn clothes but I think they may have to move up to 0-3 months in the upcoming weeks!!

Celebrating 1 Month!

It's amazing how fast the past month has flown by! I can't believe the girls are already 1 month old!! They are growing so fast and it seems as if their little features are changing every single day. I remember my mom telling me how much she enjoyed nursing me and my siblings when we were babies and watching us change every day, and I couldn't agree with her more! I notice something new about the girls all the time! This week I noticed that both Sophia and Savannah are getting so strong and are trying to lift their head when we are cuddling! They seem to want to look around and explore the world around them! Even though they have some similar features, they could not look more different and have such different personalities. Sophia is very active and always trying to move, squirm and get out of her swaddle, while Savannah is usually very mellow and when she's awake she's just looking at everything around her.

I've also noticed they are looking very big these days! Not only do they look big, but they feel heavy also! All week I was anxiously awaiting their 1 month check up to see how much they have grown!

Today we were off to find out just how much they had grown in the past month! And the doctor could not be more happy with them! It's amazing how fast time is flying by and I try to remind myself every day that tomorrow they will be bigger ~ so enjoy the moment because it won't last forever! Even when I'm so exhausted (and trust me, I have quite a few of those moments!), I try to just soak it all in…before I know it they will be 2 and running around like Jayden!

Sophia:
Day 1:
5 lbs 13 oz
17 3/4 inches

Day 10:
6 lbs
18 inches

Day 31:
7 lbs 13 oz
20 3/4 inches

Savannah:
Day 1:
6 lbs 5 oz
18 inches

Day 10:
6 lbs 4 oz
19 inches

Day 31:
8 lbs 5 oz
21 1/2 inches

AMAZING GROWTH RIGHT?!? I was shocked and so was the nurse and their doc! He was thrilled with how big and healthy they are! I'm also loving the fact they are quick eaters like Jayden was. When we nurse, they are usually done within 10-15 minutes and when we feed them a bottle (which we have been doing at least once or twice a day) they eat within 15-20 minutes. We're still tandem feeding to keep them on the same schedule - otherwise it would feel as if I was constantly feeding them! When I told the doctor how much they are eating out of a bottle, he was amazed! Typically an average 1 month old will eat between 2-3 oz at a time…our girls are eating between 3-4 oz, if not more!! The doc also said no need to wake the girls to feed (which I wasn't anyways)…since they are clearly getting enough to eat, I can let them sleep :)

At the rate they are growing…they will catch up to Jayden probably by their first birthday! LOL

Time for a check up!

Waiting for the doc to come check us out!
Of course Savannah fell asleep while Sophia was just looking at everything!

This week was also an adjustment as Jonathan went back to work. It was amazing having him home with us for a whole month! We had so much family time and I miss him now that he's gone all day! Last week was so much fun since I was able to get out and do a little more. We went for quite a few walks and took the girls out to run errands. It's funny to see people's faces when they see us pushing a stroller with two car seats. Some people can't help but make comments or ask to see the girls! Some random guy started talking to us and told us his grandson was born on Father's Day…I don't know what that has to do with twins, but OK :)

Since Jonathan is back at work and I still can't lift Jayden, she is at her daycare every day this week and next week. She loves her little "preschool" so much ~ and it's so good for her! Since all the other kids eat a ton and drink milk…she has been branching out and eating a variety of food AND she started drinking MILK! I tried a million times to get her to drink milk…I tried whole milk, soy milk, almond milk, chocolate milk…just about any type of milk you could think of, I tried it! Since she's been around all the other kids every day, she started drinking milk this week! I'm so so so proud of her and I'm so happy she's happy at Ms. Kathleen's everyday!

Enjoying her 2nd cup of milk at Ms. Kathleens!! :)

Out & about with mommy & daddy

Mama & Jayden love <3

You know he's Father of the Year when he wants to push the stroller and have Jayden on his shoulders! I just strolled along behind :)

Seriously one of my favorite pictures of the girls!! Jayden was so excited to "hold" the girls! She got mad when we picked them back up…I think she wanted to hold them the rest of the day!

The girls favorite new place to hang out and nap…their double boppy pillow! This is the most amazing invention EVER! And the twins LOVE it! It makes it so easy to nurse, bottle feed them & once they are a little bigger, we can use it for tummy time!

Being 1 month is so hard!
Must be nice to nap all of the time! :)

Kisses from daddy & Jayden <3

Yummy celebration!!
First glass of my favorite champagne and first sushi night in nearly 10 months!! Last week we broke out the Waterford champagne glasses to celebrate an amazing delivery, two miracle babies and our cute little family of 5!!

Cheers to our double blessings!
Happy 1 month Sophia & Savannah!
Daddy, Mommy & Jayden love you! <3

Happy Siblings Day

I heard today is National Siblings Day and since it's the first time Jayden has had siblings on this "holiday", I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate with a shout out to our three girls!

Jayden loves her little sisters!

Jonathan's Girls :)

I never imagined Jonathan and I would have three kids, let alone three girls! The other day when I was looking in the mirror I couldn't believe staring back at me was a mommy of three beautiful baby girls! Since I have two sisters (who are the best sisters in the world and the most amazing aunties to my three little ones), I'm so excited that my girls will grow up with not just one, but two sisters and share so many fun adventures together!

Happy First Siblings Day to my beautiful, sweet daughters! I can't wait to see what life has in store for each of you and I'm so excited daddy and I get to cheer you on every single day through this amazing adventure!

So sweet <3

My little snuggle monkeys!

Jayden's already helping sort, fold and organize the twins clothes!
Such an awesome big sissy!

PS. Happy Siblings Day to my beautiful sisters and extraordinary brother! I'm so blessed to have the most amazing, loving, thoughtful and supportive siblings in the world! I don't know what I would ever do without you and I am so thankful for you! Thank you for all you do for me, Jonathan and our growing family! We are so lucky to have you in our life and our girls are so incredibly lucky to have such amazing role models in their life as well! We love you! <3
