A little late on 8

I'm about a week late posting Sophia & Savannah's 8 month blog...but better late than never :)

It's amazing how fast the girls are growing ~ I put them on the scale the other day and Sophia is right around 18 lbs and Savannah is around 17 1/2 lbs! I'm not sure how long they are, but they are quickly growing out of their 9 month clothes...so I wouldn't be surprised if they are around 27 inches!

This month has been really fun ~ both girls are crawling in their own way...Savannah is moving backwards (and often times goes around in circles) and Sophia is inching forward with her toes and is hilarious as she pushes her bottom in the air to reach whatever she's going after! We've been putting them on their knees and today was the first day Savannah was starting to put her knees under her by herself and Sophia was able to go from sitting down to laying down without face diving! I'm a little in denial about the need to babyproof more than we did with Jayden ~ but that is indeed on my "to do" list.
Why is it that every single thing goes in their mouths?
I should have bought stock in Lysol wipes...we go through about a container a day sanitizing everything in our house for these girls!

That's the look of trouble!

I never get tired of these smiles and giggles!

Picture time with mommy after our morning run!

They only have eyes for daddy!
And mommy when they're hungry :)

And we finally received the other pictures from the 6 month / 7 month shoot! I'm so excited about them! I'm so in love with how they turned out! And trust me when I say, it was a WORKOUT to get these pictures!

Could they be any sweeter?!

CHEESSEEEEE :)
So in love! <3

Whooaahhhh there!

Tongues!

I usually can't decide which pictures I like best...so I just post all of them :)

Don't think we could love these little love bugs anymore! They are so incredibly sweet and I love seeing their big bright smiles every single day!

Happy 8 Months my sweet angels! We love you so very much!

Not Your Typical Turkey Day

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is definitely not a typical Thanksgiving ~ this morning Jayden threw up all over the sofa so our plans ended up changing for the day. Instead of celebrating Thanksgiving with family, I took Jayden to the walk-in while Jonathan stayed home with our sleeping beauties Sophia & Savannah.

On the way to the walk-in...didn't take long for her to pass out!

While we were waiting Jayden wanted to cuddle, which was fine by me! :)

Jayden did really well at the doctor - she let the doctor look in her mouth, ears and even take her temp. Such a better experience at the doctor compared to last time!
She weighed in at 24 lbs and is 33 inches tall!

Bad news is she has a stomach virus that is going around, good news is that it's not contagious and it doesn't appear Jayden has anything else. Hopefully she's back to her normal happy self in a day or so.

It's not exactly how we pictured our first thanksgiving with the twins...but with 3 kids under 3, plans can change anytime!

Luckily my family is bringing some food over tonight so Jonathan and I won't completely miss out on the yummy feast!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Girls Weekend!

One of my favorite things each year is going on the girls weekend! It's nice to go away for a few days and just relax & unwind! This year we decided to go down to Pelican Hill in Newport for a long weekend! Minus a few hiccups with the resort, overall we had an amazing time!

Nothing quite like a note from your butler, a nice fire in the fireplace, champagne & a cheese and cracker tray to welcome you to the villa!

Our first night we headed out to eat at Mastros! Definitely my favorite meal of the weekend!
 martinis & buttercake = delicious!

The next morning we were up bright & early! We decided to walk down to Crystal Cove and walk on the beach...we ended up walking about 5 miles that morning! I definitely walked off the calories from all the buttercake I ate the night before!

Don't think it gets much clearer than this!

Such an awesome view! Doesn't get much better!

OK maybe the sunsets are better :)

After our hike the first day, I had to work for an hour and then we headed out to hang by the pool for a bit before going to the spa.
Working hard....or hardly working?!

That evening we ate at Andreas ~ the tableside Risotto was truly amazing! As was my blueberry martini :)

Best risotto I've ever had!

But one of my favorite parts of the evening was being invited to meet the pasta maker and learning how she makes all the pasta by hand in the kitchen!

The next morning we were off for our morning walk again! This time we walked even further to Crystal Court and went over 6 miles!

And yes I think it was even more clear than the morning before!

After we got home, we were off to the pool to hang in the cabana for a few hours!

Watching the Hawkeye game & enjoying our cocktails!

Love how we were watching football during our girls weekend :) The boys would be impressed!

sisters <3

Before heading out on the last day we ate brunch out by the main pool - such an awesome view!

Parker & Mark headed down to hang with us the last day before taking off. Luckily we were offered a late check out so they could enjoy the day by the pool before heading back to reality.

Bloody mary bar at breakfast!?!
YUMMY :)

Great way to end a great weekend!
Can't wait for our next girls trip! :)

Halloween

This year we had a jammed packed weekend for Halloween! Jayden dressed up as the most adorable Belle I've ever seen and Sophia & Savannah dressed up as the cutest ladybug and bumble bee!

I decided to make Jayden's costume since I couldn't find any Belle costumes I liked. I quickly found out I would need help as my sewing skills (or lack there of) wouldn't cut it. Luckily my mom came over and helped me finish Jayden's costume! I love how it turned out! She was the perfect little Belle in the perfect golden dress! Since I didn't want anything over the top for the twins since they would be in the stroller most of the time, I decided to buy jammies with a picture of a lady bug and bumble bee on them. It was perfect for them since they fell asleep both nights we went out!

My mom hard at work!

Showing off her good work!

It's coming together!

LOVING the final dress! So happy we decided to make it and so glad my mom helped :)

Friday night we took the girls to Blocktober and it was so crowded since it was the night before Halloween! The parking was crazy and all the rides and activities had super long lines. We ended up leaving earlier than planned since it was so busy.

My and my Belle <3

Headed into the bounce houses!

Cutest lady bug and bumble bee I've ever seen!
Their headbands barely stayed up because they were so big, but the jammies I bought were perfect costumes!

Jump time!

Hanging with friends!

The next night was Halloween! This year was so much fun since Jayden totally understood trick-or-treating and she was so excited to get more candy in her pumpkin at each house!

Before heading out of course we took some pics!
And you have no idea how hard it was to get all 3 girls to look at the camera at the same time!

Smiling with grandma & grandpa!

Trick-or-Treating ... Here we come!

After a few houses, Jayden could go up to the door completely by herself. She loved it! She would put her pumpkin inside the house and say "Trick-or-Treat". After they would put candy in her pumpkin, she would reach into the bowl for more candy!
She's definitely related to me! :)

We went out for over an hour and she did awesome! It was such a fun night and we ended up with way more candy than we need!

Next year it will be fun to take all 3 girls trick-or-treating!
