5 Months!

How is it possible Sophia & Savannah are already 5 months??!! I can't believe how big our girls are getting and how incredibly healthy they are! The past few weeks have been so much fun! They are learning to sit up and they are getting stronger and stronger each day! We started putting the girls in the bumbo seat to strengthen their core and practice sitting up. We also started putting them in their highchairs last week and this weekend we are starting the girls on pureed foods! I definitely think they are ready and I'm excited to see how they do!

Happy Girls in Highchairs!

They are all smiles!!

I'm so lucky the girls love their bumbo seat! Makes for a great baby holder when I'm busy with the other baby!

Since the girls don't have a doctor appointment this month, I have to estimate their weight and height…so I'm excited to see how much they have grown at their appointment next month!

Sophia:
13 lbs. 14 oz.
25 inches

Savannah:
13 lbs. 7 oz.
25 1/4 inches

Now when the girls do tummy time I face them towards each other so they can keep each other entertained! They are both getting so strong ~ they can stay in tummy time for about 30-45 minutes!

They other day the girls fell asleep when playing on their play mat ~ when I looked down I saw they were holding hands! It just about melted my heart! Awwww I love these girls! <3

Spending time with daddy :)

This week I went up in the attic to get down the rest of their 6 & 9 month clothes! I just about died when I saw that they will soon fit into clothes Jayden wore only a few months ago! At the rate they are growing, they will surpass Jayden's weight and clothing size by the end of the year! :)

Some of Sophia & Savannah's favorite things:
* Tummy time
* Sitting in their swing or mamaroo
* Going for walks
* Cuddling
* Sitting up and being able to look around
* Munching on their hands or soft toys
* Splashing in the bath!

HAPPY 5 MONTHS SOPHIA & SAVANNAH!
WE LOVE YOU <3

2 1/2

Today we had Jayden's 2 1/2 year appointment! Even though it was by far the most challenging appointment so far as Jayden didn't want the doctor or nurse to touch her, I'm so proud of the progress she has made and the milestones she has surpassed! Today Jayden was 23 lbs 3 oz and about 33 inches. Since she was not cooperative when we were trying to measure her height, I'm sure it was off by an inch or so. We also had to complete a questionnaire and she was "above average" in all areas! I am one proud mama and couldn't be more thrilled with how she is exceeding all age 2 milestones!! :)

I still can't believe we have a toddler and while this stage so far has been challenging at times, overall it has been so incredibly amazing! I love hearing the funny things Jayden says and the way she repeats everything! It seems like just yesterday we were counting the words she could say, now I would have no way of even trying to keep track of the things that she says! I love listening to her form sentences and explore the world in her own way! She can say 4-5 word sentences…and sometimes she strings two sentences together when she's trying to communicate. Jayden also knows all of her body parts, all her colors and can count up to 14! She is also the most particular little 2 year old I've ever met! She is obsessed with her purple flower dress - she usually wears it about 3-4x a week and the only time she isn't wearing it is when it's in the washer.

Jayden showing off her dress and her favorite socks :)

She loves singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Humpty Dumpty, Old MacDonald & Itsy Bitsy Spider, but her new favorite song is "Happy Birthday"! The other day we had to sing "Happy Birthday" to everyone in our family! It's going to be fun at her next birthday when we are singing to her :)

It would be so amazing if Jayden could change the baby's diapers and not just Cinderella's diaper :)

A few weeks ago my mom found my favorite toy when I was little - it was my little Lambie! I literally took this poor little lamb every where I went. When I was about two years old, I lost her at a church event so my mom had to make me a new one!
Well when my mom brought her over, I was so excited to share her with Jayden! Not only did I share her, but when I looked in my photo albums from when I was little I found a TON of pictures of me holding lambie! So of course I couldn't help myself…I had to try & recreate the picture with Jayden :)

Love that she got her crazy curly-top hair from me <3

I never get enough cuddle time :)
By far one of my favorite things in the world is cuddling with our girls!

And I know it's one of daddy's favorites also!

We feel so incredibly blessed to be this little love bug's mommy & daddy! And we can't wait to see her big bright beautiful future!
We love you Jayden!

Potty Training!

That's right! Jayden is potty trained! A few weeks ago we decided to take away the diapers and just go for it! It took a full 3 days, but on the 4th day we had no accidents and Jayden was telling us when she needed to go potty! We're still working on nighttime and poops…but she'll get there!

To get Jayden excited about potty training, I made a cute sticker chart for her...she sometimes puts the stickers on the flowers, but for the most part, she likes to put them right next to the princesses!

Our first day in big girl undies!

We even had some helpers come the first day --
Jayden walked Auntie B and Ella to their car and wanted to wave bye bye!

Sometimes it takes a while…so books and songs definitely came in handy!

But when she finally went…she was amazed and wanted to see it in the potty and say bye bye to the "big yellow one" :)

Now that she's trained…she loves to say "I did it!" whenever she goes potty! And whenever anyone else goes to the bathroom, she gets so excited and will say "YOU DID IT!" or if she walks in on someone…she'll say "push it out!" hahahahahaha

For a few days she was so scared of public restrooms, but now we play a game when we're in there. We will guess what color the soap is going to be or talk about what music is on. That usually is a good enough distraction to help her go potty. My favorite is when she walks out of the public restroom and she tells random people "she did it" :)
She cracks me up!

I'm so incredibly proud of our little potty trained munchkin!

Sweet Summertime

This summer has been so much fun! I can't believe summer is quickly coming to an end and fall is right around the corner! We've had such an awesome (& super hot) summer! I can't believe all we have done the last few weeks!

Off to the circus!

Playing at the lake...

…and chasing the duckies!

Learning to ride a bike with the best daddy!

Lazy days just hanging out :)

Concerts in the park with family & friends!

Mommy & Daddy date nights

I never get tired of this view!!

& lastly ~ we are officially owners of a new 2015 Sienna mini van! LOL

I've always said I would never drive a van…but honestly, it's one of the best decisions we've made this year! It has totally made our lives easier AND there is a ton of room in the car!

Plus Jayden loves the van! She always wants to go play in "mommy's van" ~ she loves pushing the button to close the doors and she loves watching Beauty & the Beast on the DVD player! Definitely a bonus when we are driving far ~ the Disney movies are a good distraction!

Awww & look at that storage space! It's a mom's dream :)

We've already taken our new "mini" on a road trip and it was amazing. Packing the car was a breeze and we had room to spare!

All in all - this summer has been so much fun! We've had crazy days for sure, but nothing beats a sweet summer's day with our three beautiful girlies! <3

Being a Mom of Multiples

I can't even begin to tell you how many people say to me "I've always wanted twins" or "I hope I have twins one day"…family, friends, even random strangers!

So for those who think about having twins, want twins or even wished you had twins…when Jayden is at Ms. Kathleen's, this is a day in the life of having our 4 month old twin girls.

Wake up around 6:00 to a squirmy, hungry babe…

Good morning Sophia!

Love this little lady <3

After feeding, burping, a little bit of love and a new diaper…on to the next babe!

Good morning Savannah!

After feeding, burping, a little bit of love and a new diaper…back to sleep! zzzzzz
I love how Savannah falls asleep on her binkie!

In a perfect world, I'd be able to take a long, hot, steaming (quiet) shower…but since I have twins (& there's a massive drought), it's more like a quick, semi-hot (thanks for taking all the hot water Jonathan) shower with the girls in the bouncer seat and swing. Half the time I find that I forgot to rinse my back because I have to hop out to help the girls if one is getting fussy!

Then off to feed, burp & change the babies again. We then get to PLAY :)
tummy time, play time on the mat and reading time! :)

Awwww…Sophia wanted to hold Savannah's hand during reading time!
Just a few of our favorite books :)

Sophia & Savannah practicing sitting up!
They get stronger and stronger each day!!

After feeding, burping and changing again, it's off for a long nap (if I'm lucky)!

Again in the perfect world, I would take a nap with the babies…but instead I always find myself either doing laundry, dishes or working.

Yes this is really what our dishwasher looks like (almost on a daily basis!)

I love how with all the bottles there are two champagne glasses…yes, Jonathan and I love to relax at the end of the day and enjoy a nice glass of champagne while we unwind :)

Once the girls are up in the afternoon - it's usually feeding time…so yes ~ feed, burp & and new diaper again for both Sophia & Savannah…usually by this time I've gone through 6-8 diapers, 2-4 burp cloths and on special occasions when there are blowouts involved, 1-2 new outfits for the girls!

Our afternoons are usually split - we like to go for walks (if it's not too hot), give the girls a bath, run errands and of course play, read and do more tummy time.

Such superstars!

Over she goes!

Bath time when Jayden gets home!
Jayden on one side playing :)

Sophia finishing up...

and Savannah waiting patiently for her turn :)

Around 7:00 is when we start warming up bottles to feed the girls their last feeding. I've been trying to move their  "dinner" up since no matter what time they go to sleep they always wake up at 6:00ish…so we try to put the girls to bed around 7:30/8.

When we put the girls down, we are so lucky they are good sleepers and they are down for the night!
This means Jonathan and I usually get a few hours of quiet time to ourselves, so we break out the champagne or wine glasses and enjoy a glass (or two)!

Then off to sleep to start it all over again in the morning <3

When Jayden is home all day with me and the twins ~ it's quite a full day we have. I try to keep a good routine/schedule so that she doesn't get bored and I stay sane with 3 kids 2 and under. To all the moms of triples, quads, etc…props to you! Being Super M.o.M. is a ton of work yet the most rewarding job in the world! We got this :)
