Enjoying each & every day

Summer is flying by and I keep telling myself I need to blog more...of course I always put it on the back burner because Jayden keeps me occupied! If this is a prediction of parenthood we are in for a wild ride :-)

Our little peanut is approaching 6 months this coming Friday!!! (6 months alreadyyyyy!!) and her check up is that afternoon...we think she will be around 11 - 11 1/2 lbs! She is catching up to her twin cousin Brooklyn (who, by the way, will be out here visiting in a week with my sis & the boys!!!!!!!!! EXCITED!!!!!!) whoop whoop!! 

Jayden is developing her little personality each day! She loves smiling and laughing and she LOVES to look around at everything...especially bright lights :)
She also loves grabbing toys and recently she has been grabbing her knees! I keep trying to show Jayden her cute toesies but she loves her knees.

And tonight Jonathan and I found our sweet angel passed out in her cradle completely out of her swaddle! It was too cute! She is getting so big that even her blankets aren't keeping her bundled up anymore...or maybe her blankets are shrinking along with those clothes of hers ;-)

It's unbelievable how much we love her. I think one of my favorite things is when she "talks" to me. I love how much she is cooing ... Sometimes it seems like she understands what we are saying and she tries to respond LOL. I know some people say "I can't wait until she is doing this" or "I can't wait until she is doing that"........I can wait. I just want to enjoy now. Today. This moment. I don't want time to speed up, I want it to slow down so I can enjoy little big Jayden each and every single day <3

Is it already the end of July?

It's crazy to think Jayden is already 5 months!! Sometimes I wish I could freeze time and live in certain moments forever...I absolutely LOVE being a mommy - it's the best job in the world and I am so blessed to have the most beautiful little girl in the world! I have to admit it just makes me a little emotional to think how fast Jayden is growing! She is over 10 pounds now and has the most lovable chubby cheeks I have ever seen in my life! I keep telling myself her clothes are shrinking because I can't believe how fast she is growing! We are enjoying every single day because we know tomorrow she is going to be a little bigger than today, and the next day a little bigger than tomorrow. I really think Jayden is the happiest baby I have ever seen! She is always laughing and smiling! Her new favorite thing is to play on her baby Einstein play mat and talk to the blinking star. It is ADORABLE! :)

We had her 4 month pictures taken at the end of June and just got some of them back :) I'm so in loveeeeee <3333333333

Probably the cutest toes I have ever seen in my life! And she really does cross her little fingers when she is sleeping. Her little features are changing so much every day, I had to have detailed pics during this photo session! 

Red, White & Blue

We had so much fun this year on 4th of July! As always we were feeling very patriotic and I loved dressing up our sweet Jayden in cute red, white & blue outfits :-)

In the morning we went to the parade with our neighbors and definitely had the best seats! We were right next to the judges table where everyone goes all out to show off for the judges! It was much better than last year! And we even made it on TV this year! The camera man came over and got a shot of our group!! Jayden was awake for almost the entire parade and sat with Irelyn, our neighbors daughter, most of the time :)

After the parade we went to a BBQ on the lake and had a blast! Next time we are bringing our suits so we can participate in the water fights on the lake! It looked like so much fun! Plus it was super hot outside so it would have felt amazing!  Instead we just cruised around the lake on the Duffy boat :)

After the BBQ we watched fireworks and Jayden slept all the way through fireworks! What a trooper!! Next year we can't wait ... not only will we dress her up in super cute patriotic clothes again, but her cousin Ella will be here and they for sure are going to have matching outfits!!! CUTTTEEEEEEEEEEE!!! 

First Father's Day & 4 Month Birthday

It's been wayyyyyyy too long since my last blog update. I have so much to catch up on! First and foremost....today was FATHER'S DAY (as you can tell I wrote this a few weeks ago and have, again, procrastinated with finishing my post). So shout out to my love JSE ~ happy first Father's Day and I can't wait to celebrate many, many more with you! Not only was it Jonathan's first Father's Day, but it was also Jayden's 4 month bday! And I must admit the pics are adorable from our mini photo shoot!! (Will post later as they are on my fancy camera).

Today I told Jonathan we could do whatever he wanted since it was his day :-) so this AM we went to church and it was so exciting when all the dads were asked to stand up to be recognized...I was super excited to see Jonathan standing with all the other dads! Even though we've only been parents for a few months...every minute has been absolutely amazing and I'm so lucky to have such an amazing hubby, who happens to be the best daddy in the world!! After church Jonathan wanted to do yard work...yep, that's right...yard work! LOL So after church we went to Home Depot (I swear they probably know us by name in that store by now!) and headed home to keep working on the backyard....and I must admit our yard is definitely coming along! Once it's all done it will look amazing!

Fast forward to the real "today" and 2 weeks later we again have so much to update. Jayden's 4 month check up was the day after Father's Day and she was 9 lbs 1 oz! And today Jonathan weighed her and she's about 9 1/2 lbs!! What a chunker! We are loving it! We are so in love with our little babe...she is the happiest baby I have EVER seen! She is always smiling and trying to laugh...it's adorable!

Last weekend was the preeclampsia walk in Irvine and I've tried several times writing about it, but every time I sit down to start writing I get a little emotional. Hearing other stories so similar to ours was very difficult...especially when their story did not have a happy ending :( There was a huge group walking for a particular family that lost their baby...and other families had babies with major medical problems. I had so many mixed feelings...I was so sad and heartbroken for those who lost their babies while another part of of me felt so blessed our little Jayden is here and beyond healthy. There was a point in the ceremony that I was helping Jayden get comfy (she was being a little fussy in her stroller) and I looked over and read the back of one of the shirts a team was wearing...and I almost broke down... "We never got to hold you in our arms, but we will forever hold you in our hearts" ... I think back to the days in the hospital and that so easily could have been us. I don't know how we got so lucky...but I thank God every single day I get to hold little Jayden every day and every night.

My family did the walk with us and we had a BLAST! We decorated the wagon for my nephews to sit in...sooooo cute!!!

They were blowing bubbles at everyone with their bubble gun...it was pretty funny!!

I can't wait for next years walk! We are going to make shirts and go all out! Who knows maybe Jayden will actually be able to walk part of it :-)

3 month birthday :-)

Today is Jayden's 3 month birthday and what progress she has made!! If she's not there already, I think she is close to 7 lbs! I can't believe how much she has changed since the night she was born. She is such a little miracle and truly the most amazing gift Jonathan and I have ever been blessed with!!

So the past week has been quite exciting!! Jayden finally met her cousins! And the second we walked into Lexi's hotel room, my nephew Bryson asked to hold her!! Sooooo adorable!!!

It was an awesome fam reunion with my little sis Lexi and her adorable family! And Jayden was able to finally meet her "twin" cousin Brooklyn!! (Pics to come soon since I didn't have them on my phone). They are so cute together!! I love having my sis in town with her babies! 

Anyways, we had such a fun time in Phoenix! The hotel was awesome and the pool was amazing! We basically laid in the lazy river most of the time or sat under the umbrella by the toddler pool so the kids could play.

I think I have about a million pics of us by the pool! We had so much fun!! We are already planning our next big family trip.

Since Lexi has been here in CA I have been hanging with her, the boys and Brooklyn everyday! It's so much fun catching up on sister time! And Lexi's boys are so adorable! They always want to hug, kiss or hold baby Jayden :) she has the best cousins!! 

Oh and before we left for Phoenix, Jayden had her first visit to the nail salon!! I told her when she is older she can get her nails done too!!

10 week check up

It's been over a week since Jayden's 10 week check up...she weighed in at 6 pounds and 0.5 ounces :-) she also measured 18 inches long! Since she was born she has doubled her weight and grew 3 inches!! We are so proud of our little peanut! The doctor was amazed at her progress and how strong she was getting!! I think she is now just under 6 1/2 pounds! She has been eating every 3-4 hours during the day and 4-5 hours at night...so we have been getting a little more sleep. Jonathan has been great about getting up in the middle of the night and helping me by changing her diapers! I'm so lucky to have such an amazing hubby and Jayden is so lucky to have such an awesome daddy!

We are still careful about where we take her...but we are getting out more and more each week...so we finally feel like we are out of isolation :-) This week we are going on our first road trip with Jayden! We are headed out to Phoenix to visit family and attend my step sisters grad party. Lexi and her cute family are meeting us there! I'm so excited to see her, her boys, and her cute new addition to the fam...baby Brooklyn! It's going to be adorable seeing Jayden with her cousins! And I'm even more excited Lexi will be coming out to CA for a few weeks!!!!! We will get some much needed sister time/family time as she will be staying with me and Jonathan for a little bit and we will also be having a family weekend down in Carlsbad at the beach house...so excited to see the kids on the beach :)
