Our Almost 1 Year Old

A few days ago our little Jayden figured out how to sit up on her own! When Jonathan went to get her after nap time, he found her sitting up talking to herself. So when it was my turn to get her, of course I grabbed my camera hoping she would be sitting up...and she was :)

But she wasn't in the mood for a photo shoot LOL

Jayden's also becoming a little more adventurous when she's standing up. 

Now she loves to let go to find her balance...her facial expressions are CLASSIC!

She is so proud of herself! She's getting so big! 

With her birthday around the corner, I'm anxious to see how much Jayden weighs at her next doc appointment. I put her on our bathroom scale and it only said 14.8 lbs...which seems a little low to me, so hopefully our scale is off (for her sake and mine LOL).

Only 2 more weeks and our little Jayden will be 1! <3

She's Crawling!

Yes indeed! Jayden has finally figured out how to continuously push herself forward...and ever since she started, she hasn't stopped. I had a feeling that would happen!

Yesterday we were playing and of course I was trying to get her to move around and instead of just pushing herself forward once, maybe twice, she just kept going! I even turned my back to finish her cute invites for her 1st birthday and she was on the other side of the living room in about 20 seconds! 

We are so incredibly proud of our little peanut! 

This morning, she was back at it already...she wanted to crawl around and touch EVERYTHING! She is definitely a little explorer! Good thing we already started baby proofing!

And with Jayden's birthday right around the corner, I spent so much time last week trying to teach her how to put 1 finger in the air so she can show everyone how old she is...and she finally got it! Now it's one of her favorite things to do LOL

I can't believe it's almost time to celebrate her first birthday!!

Where's Juanatan

So, most people know that Jonathan and I are jokesters...we LOVE to pull fun pranks on each other...whether it's scaring one another, pouring ice cold water on each other in the shower (this is my personal fav!) or our new favorite...playing "Where's Juanatan".

A few weeks ago Jonathan's parents were cleaning out their house and came across a life-size cutout of Jonathan from when he was a senior in high school. Naturally I said I wanted to take it home because I had big plans for this piece of cardboard with Jonathan's picture on it :) :)

The first night I put him on Jonathan's side of the bed so when my hubby came home he had a surprise visitor! We were both laughing so hard (I know we are hilarious!)...from then on, we tried to put this cutout on each other's side of the bed before the other would head upstairs. Of course one thing lead to another and before we knew it we were trying to find different funny places to put "Juanatan".

So bummed Jonathan put Juan in my car yesterday morning...this was totally MY idea also...but since I didn't wake up in the middle of the night to put him in Jonathan's car, he beat me to it!

Hello Sleep

I feel rejuvenated, refreshed and I have a TON of energy this morning! Last night was the first night I had uninterrupted sleep! That's right...Jayden slept a full 12 hours last night! It took a full 11 months, but she did it on her 11 month birthday...and I feel like a new person this morning! I didn't even rush to make my morning coffee!

A few days ago we started our MOPS program and so far we LOVE it! Four of the moms at our table have 1 year olds so we all talk about what stage our babies are at! It's so much fun! One of the moms told us how she was able to sleep train her baby at 6 months and now he sleeps 12-13 hours every single night! I have to admit, I was awfully jealous when she told us that...but her doctor said to let her baby cry it out and will eventually stop waking up in the middle of the night. So Jonathan and I decided we were going to try it the first night and see how it went. That night was hard because Jayden woke up two times and cried herself back to sleep in about 15 minutes, but I felt awful the whole time and I didn't go back to sleep until she was back asleep. Although it was worth it because now, only the second night, she's sleeping 12 hours! HALLELUJAH!!!!! :)

It's a happy day for me and a Happy 11 month birthday for Jayden! <3

Officially on the Move!

Jayden has been scooching backwards for quite some time, but this past weekend she started inching forward! She finally figured it out! She's also able to move side-to-side to reach whatever is around her.

She also crawls forward when she is sitting down to reach for whatever is around her! We have to be watching her every move because she has been able to grab so many things...like water cups, keys, food and sometimes she's after my morning coffee!

She is officially on the move!! 

Time to start baby-proofing our house ASAP! 

And since I totally forgot to blog about Jayden's first word (which was mama and dada by the way!)...I figured I should probably post a cute video of her talking!

About a month ago Jonathan told me she started saying mama and dada when they were watching football! Now her favorite thing to say is mama! She can also say baba, which I'm not sure if it's for bye bye or ball...but she still loves to say it! 

The best is when Jonathan and I wake up in the morning to Jayden talking to herself. We will just lay there and listen to her. She is by far the BEST alarm clock in the world! :)

One Smart Girl

For the past few months one of Jayden's favorite things to hold has been chapstick...well last night she saw Jonathan take off the cap when he was using it. When he handed it back to Jayden, she was able to pull the cap right off! I guess she won't be playing with chapstick anymore!

She is one smart girl! 

Jayden also found her new favorite thing to do! Pull herself up onto her play table, let go and stand up on her own, plop down on her bottom and pull herself back up and do it all over again! She can do that over and over and over and not get tired of it! And when she pulls herself up, she is so proud of herself and she looks around to see if anyone is watching...almost as if she's saying "Did you see that!?"

Since we have been spending quite a bit of time at Disneyland, I decided to make a Minnie Mouse beanie for Jayden! I looked up online how to crochet and just started making it one day. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but I think it turned out pretty cute!

The ears are a little floppy when it's on Jayden, but I think it's because I made a bigger size so she can grow into it.
